My show at SODA Gallery was deemed a success with excellent feedback received regarding the quality and finesse of the work and a number of sales. Lenny Ann Low of The Sydney Morning Herald dated October 30-31, 2004 said:

" There is something of the cool `60's femme in the bold paintings of Trisha Lambi. Each of her oil on canvas paintings features a female headless nude and all exude a mysterious imperturbability somehow mixed with a hot, blushing light that seems to emit from the body. Lambi has titled her latest series of paintings Lighting the Body and explained her aim was to capture the play of light upon the female figure. "I don't see the objects," Lambi says in the exhibition notes "I see light on forms highlighting sensual curves, hard edges and soft shadows."  But what she has also done in her paintings - in particular in the works Casual Observer, Dreaming I, Dreaming II, and Basking - is collar light's absorption and containment in the skin"

A solo exhibition of my nude series is to be held at SODA Gallery in Avalon. Entitled Lighting the Body it will open on Wednesday October 20th and run until Sunday 7th November. For more details please visit the gallery's website www.sodagallery.com.au

I attended the opening of the group exhibition of stable artists at SODA Gallery on the 6 August which was a lot of fun and rewarding also with the sale of my Nude with Poppies. A series of still life paintings will be exhibited at Augello's Restaurant, 695 Brunswick St, New Farm for one month from 3rd August 2004.

I have also been invited to exhibit at Europ'Art 2006 in Geneva Switzerland under the banner of Who's Who International SA, an arts promotion company based in Lausanne Switzerland. The company president, Dr Louis-Marc Servien, Comte de Boisdauphin, saw my work at the Florence Biennale.

The Fourth Edition of the Biennale Internazionale dell’Arte Contemporanea was held in Florence Italy from the 6th December through to the 14th December 2003. 891 artists representing 72 countries exhibited their art offering a comprehensive cross-section of the development of art in the world today. Apart from the display of art in a variety of mediums – painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, installation art, and photography – a number of collateral activities were held during the exhibition including a special exhibit from the Conservation Laboratory of the Vatican Museums, a Ferrari motor car exhibit (which my 7year old son loved!) and a public talk on the importance of optical instruments for artists of the past by celebrated artist, David Hockney.

We were also treated daily to a variety of concerts and conferences as well as an opening ceremony, award ceremony and gala dinner.

On the whole I think the Biennale was a success although numbers attending were nowhere near the 40000 predicted and there was a lot of dissatisfaction amongst the artists with the shipping agent appointed by the governing body. The standard of work, however, was excellent and the general consensus of the artists of the Biennale  was that the event was worthwhile given the exposure to critics and the interaction afforded between artists which will be ongoing. I know I have benefited and grown as an artist immeasurably from the experience in exhibiting in such an arena and I miss Italy terribly!
