About The Artist

Hi, I’m Trisha Lambi — an award-winning artist with a love for bold, sensuous, and often  haunting oil paintings. For me, it’s all about light — the way it hits a form, the drama it creates, the stories it tells. I don’t consciously set out to paint emotions, but they always seem to creep in anyway, which is something I’ve come to embrace.

I began painting in a professional capacity in 2004 and since then my work has been shown all over Australia and around the world, and I’ve been lucky enough to tick off some pretty special moments in my career so far.

Here are a few highlights:

  • My first solo show was in Sydney in 2004 and it received a glowing review from Lenny Ann Low of the Sydney Morning Herald
  • I represented Australia at the Guangzhou Art Fair in China in both 2006 and 2007.
  • I won the Acquisitive Warwick Art Prize in 2009
  • In 2012, I was a finalist in the Art Taipei International Competition and also won my zone in the London Olympics Art Show.
  • In 2013, I was named one of the Best Picks for Painting in the Dubai International Emerging Artist Award.
  • In 2017 I travelled to California where my painting Nevermore was featured in Underbelly, a group exhibition at H Gallery in Ventura and curated by Dab Art.
  • Over the years I have been a finalist in many notable art competitions here in Australia including the Churchie Emerging Art Award, The ANL Maritime Art Award, the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award, and the Hornsby Art Prize to name a few.

2018 was a particularly special year — I completed my first Artist Residency in Lakkos, the historic old town of Heraklion, Crete, where I painted a mural right on the street. CLICK HERE to see a video of the whole process.

In 2019, three of my artworks appeared on The Block, which was a thrill, and I also spent time in the beautiful French village of Fontaine-Daniel for another artist residency.

2020 brought its challenges (for all of us), but I was still honoured to be a finalist in the Wyndham Art Prize and to be accepted into the International Guild of Realism.

The past few years have kept me on my toes, with some wonderful moments along the way:

  • A Merit Award in the Camelback Gallery’s International Juried “Shades of Red” Competition.
  • 6th place in the global American Art Awards.
  • Finalist in both the 2021 and 2022 International Guild of Realism’s Spring and Fall Salon Online Exhibitions.
  • I also had the chance to exhibit in Making A Splash, a global exhibition curated by Janet Rady Fine Art.

In 2022, I was proud to be Artist in Residence for the International Women’s Day Corporate Art Exhibition in Brisbane, as well as for the Condamine Country Art and Open Studio Trail in Warwick, Qld. This was particularly meaningful for me as I grew up on a farm outside of Warwick and still have family there.

One of my biggest projects to date happened between June 2021 and June 2022, when I was commissioned by Paul McIver from Goldtower to create a series of paintings documenting the Gold Rush in Charters Towers. These works were then turned into a massive mosaic mural — 80 metres long and 7 metres high — which adorn the external walls of the Poppet Head Plaza Shopping Centre and faces a major highway running through Charters Towers. In more recent years, I’ve been lucky to add a few more feathers to my cap:

  • Finalist in the 2023 Clayton Utz Art Prize.
  • Finalist in the 2023 Kennedy Prize.
  • Named a finalist in the 2024 Australian Street Art Awards for the Wall of History Mosaic Mural in Charters Towers.
  • Shortlisted for the 2024 Almenara Art Prize.
  • Most recently, I was named a finalist in the 2025 Soho Art Prize.
