The title of this figurative piece was inspired by the old movie Flying High - a comedy parodying the disaster film genre. During a tense landing the air traffic control boss declares at various stages 'looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking....looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking....looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines....looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue...etc and it struck me when I was painting this during the Covid lockdowns that that's how that year unfolded with disaster after disaster hitting us.
I also love painting hats.
