A return to my umbrella series, this painting captures a delicate balance between the warmth and fire of the setting sun and the cool, calm waters. The red umbrella is a symbol of hope and optimism, its vibrant hue standing out against the contrasting colors of the stormy sky and icy water. It represents resilience and reminds us that no matter the circumstances, there is always a glimmer of light and hope on the horizon.
"Somewhere the Water is Calm" encourages viewers to find moments of stillness and reflection, recognizing the enduring presence of optimism even in challenging times.
The original oil painting on linen is also available.
