Artist Statement: 

This is the hayshed on the family farm where I grew up. I’ll never forget the morning I snapped the reference photo for the original painting – my husband and I had got up early on a cold July morning for a walk with the kids up to the back paddock which gave beautiful views across the district. I remember turning back and seeing this view (and Andrew chomping on some weeds, but that’s another story!) and thinking how lucky I was to have lived such a happy life here.

That hayshed held so many happy memories - fun helping to empty the grain trucks at harvest time, not so much fun topping and tailing onions in the December heat, roller-skating on the silo platform, parties with friends where Dad had to come up and investigate what was going on, rides on the back of the old Dyna with my children. I was lucky to have so much love for so long and this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

Each print is:
